Ok...I got this email from the owner of the company that I work for. I kinda chuckled when I started reading the poem, but once I got through about 10 lines, I started to get a little mad! Read the whole thing...it's unbelievable!!!
Tax his land, tax his bed,
Tax the table at which he's fed.
Tax his tractor, tax his mule,
Teach him taxes are the rule.
Tax his work, tax his pay,
He works for peanuts anyway!
Tax his cow, tax his goat,
Tax his pants, tax his coat.
Tax his ties, tax his shirt,
Tax his work, tax his dirt.
Tax his tobacco, tax his drink,
Tax him if he tries to think.
Tax his cigars, tax his beers,
If he cries, tax his tears.
Tax his car, tax his gas,
Find other ways to tax his ass.
Tax all he has then let him know
That you won't be done till he has no dough.
When he screams and hollers, then tax him some more,
Tax him till he's good and sore.
Then tax his coffin, tax his grave,
Tax the sod in which he's laid.
Put these words upon his tomb,
'Taxes drove me to my doom...'
When he's gone, do not relax,
Its time to apply the inheritance tax.

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. What in the hell happened? Can you spell 'politicians?' And I still have to 'press 1' for English!?!?!?!? I hope this goes around THE USA at least 100 times!!!!! YOU can help it get there!!!! GO AHEAD - - - BE AN AMERICAN!!!!!!

My, how expectations change...
I got to thinking the other day about what I used to think married life was like. When I was little (and I mean 6 or 7) I looked at all the married couples I knew and here's what I thought married couples always did:
1) go to "Broadway" shows on a regular basis
2) always happy
3) never fighting
4) always had a dog or cat
5) never struggled with money
6) did things together all the time outside of the house
7) went out to dinners and movies a lot
8) mom stayed home, dad worked
9) drove nice cars
10) everything was "perfect"
Well! As we all know...that is NOT married life. I'm not married yet, but will be in May. People fight, people struggle, they may not always drive nice cars, and things were DEFINITELY not perfect... I'm so glad that I'm with my soul mate! I wouldn't trade him for the world. :-)

The seemingly never-ending project...
So, my mom taught me how to crochet years ago...I mean about 6 years ago probably. Now, I started this project probably 4 years ago and I love working on it, I just....well...don't! lol
This is taken on my couch...not a love seat, a full size couch.
This one just shows a little bit of the detail.
Maybe one of these days I will actually finish it!!! I think this might turn into a throw instead of an actual blanket though...

MMmmm, Tea!!!
Black Cherry Berry tea to be exact...and it's yummy!!! I opted for some caffeine free tea when I went grocery shopping the other day because of some info I got from my doctor...which I will share later. This particular tea came from a Celestial Seasonings sampler box that has the Black Cherry Berry, Raspberry Zinger (which is also yummy, had it before), and some other neat flavors too. All caffeine free!!! Now on to why I skipped the teas with caffeine...
Gentlemen, you may not want to read on as this refers to lady business...I had to go to my doctor recently for my regular appointment, and I explained to him while I was there that I had been having horrendous cramps. I mean, the kind of cramps that you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. I would take 800mg of Motrin and would still be feeling them rather strongly. The kind of cramps that have sent me home from work quite a few times. Well, the doc wrote me a prescription (which I've only taken a couple of times), and explained to me that the more caffeine you have in your system, the worse your cramps (may) will be. Hm. So I've been trying to cut the caffeine out completely to see if it helps. Sure I'll still have regular tea every now and then, and if I'm feeling saucy, I'll even have a cup of coffee! But not NEARLY as much as I used to. We'll see if it has any effect on the pain...at the rate I'm going, I'll be GOLDEN for having kids... lol

Random Quote Day
Well, today I think I'm just going to post random quotes that strike me one way or another. These might range from politics, to love, to friendship, to family, to religion.
He that is not jealous is not in love. ~St. Augustine
The world is divided into two kinds of people: those who have tattoos, and those who are afraid of people with tattoos. ~Author Unknown
The bonds of matrimony are like any other bonds - they mature slowly. ~Peter De Vries
Laundry is the only thing that should be separated by color. ~Author Unknown
Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear. ~Ambrose Redmoon
Love your country. Your country is the land where your parents sleep, where is spoken that language in which the chosen of your heart, blushing, whispered the first word of love; it is the home that God has given you that by striving to perfect yourselves therein you may prepare to ascend to him. ~Giuseppe Mazzini
Ok, I think that's enough for today...tootles!

Side Effects
I was sitting here flipping back and forth between the U of M/MSU game (go BLUE!!! even though we lost) and Mitch Albom's 'The Five People You Meet In Heaven' when an ad came on for "Enbrel". Has anyone seen what the possible side effects are on this stuff??? Or any medications for that matter! First, it says this: "In rare cases, Etanercept has caused serious blood problems. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop persistent fever; extreme or unusual fatigue; unexplained or prolonged bruising or bleeding; black, bloody or tarry stools; fever or chills; or signs of infection such as sore throat or pale skin. These symptoms may be signs of blood problems." Some of the side effects listed: serious blood problems, black, bloody or tarry stools, visual disturbances, seizures, depression, TUBERCULOSIS.
Now, let me ask you all this...and feel free to actually answer...would you take something that might cause Tuberculosis??? Seriously??? I know I wouldn't. I try not to take MOTRIN unless absolutely necessary...don't like putting chemicals like that in my body.
Anyways...have a good night all.

Now this......is good....
So, my brother sent me this story about Presidential candidate Barack Obama today...read it here.
A little excerpt: "Nothing is more important than enforcing the Constitution," he said. "The Constitution's provisions are very small for qualifying for president. One, be over 35, and he is. Two, be in the country 14 years, and he has been. Three, be a natural-born citizen. He is not."
Now...what would happen if this is proven??? Especially since we are so close to the election? Would Hillary Clinton be the new Democratic candidate? Or would they pull someone from a different political party?
This will be an historical election for sure!!! Everyone needs to get out and vote...

My car is on crack
Ok, so maybe it's not really on crack, but it sure is strange sometimes!!!
The other day, I was on my way to work and hadn't even made it out of my neighborhood yet. I slowed down because there was a little boy running on the other side of the street heading towards the bus stop. When I hit the gas...the rpms went through the roof, but I didn't go any faster. Hmm. I hit the gas again...same thing happened. Now I'm starting to think "this is not a good way to start the day...". Well, I slowed down to about 5 mph and then tried the gas again. This time it actually engaged and I was able to drive again. My car has had it's issues in the past. It's shifted hard from the day I bought it, so I don't really look at that as a problem anymore. This...however...is a problem. Maybe I'll check the trans fluid tonight when I get home... The funniest part of this story...yesterday, it was running like a champ!!! Smooth shifting, good acceleration, the works...who knows...
Oh yeah...1000 hits!!! woohoo!!! And that's after the new counter was put up...the last one took a dump, and then I didn't have one for a while...ok, so I'm a little bit of a nerd when it comes to finding out that so many people are reading my tidbits :-) But why aren't any of you following? heheheee
Now, I think the country needs this right now with the upcoming election. I got this Sunday after church when Michael and I went to a pancake breakfast given at our church...(credit to the Men of the Sacred Hearts and the Knights of Columbus for this one....)
AN ELECTION PRAYER TO MARY
O Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, at this most critical time, we entrust the United States of America to your loving care.
Most Holy Mother, we beg you to reclaim this land for the glory of your Son. Overwhelmed with the burden of the sins of our nation, we cry to you from the depths of our hearts and seek refuge in your motherly protection.
Look down with mercy upon us and touch the hearts of our people. Open our minds to the great worth of human life and to the responsibilities that accompany human freedom.
Free us from the falsehoods that lead to the evil of abortion and threaten the sanctity of family life. Grant our country the wisdom to proclaim that God's law is the foundation on which this nation was founded, and that He alone is the True Source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
O Merciful Mother, give us the courage to reject the culture of death and the strength to build a new Culture of Life.
Amen.

What I would like to see...
Ok, with the election coming up, I'm going to dip into a little bit of politics for a second... I had every intention of actually photo shopping a mock ballot, but I don't feel like waiting that long. This rant stems from a video on youtube about voters being questioned about who they are voting for. The ideas given were those of McCains, but the voters were told that they were Obama's. Here's the video (well, audio)... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5p3OB6roAg. I find it absolutely amazing that people are so dumb!!! Anyhoo...on to what I would like to see...
These days, ballots include choices to vote straight republican, straight democrat, or you can vote individually. So, instead of having 'John McCain' and 'Barack Obama' as your options, what if people were given a list of political stances? For instance: Vote for this guy because he's pro-life, supports the war, and has a vice president that is pro-guns. Vote for the other guy because he's pro-choice, anti-war, and has minimal experience. I know who I'm voting for...it's such an easy choice!!!
I bet we would get a completely different turn out if elections were run that way!!! Gotta run though...

Fun with dirt!
Ok everyone...here's what you've all been waiting for!!! Well, not really...but oh well.
The Dirt, part one:
This was after the second "5 yard" load was dropped off, and we had already made probably 6 or 8 trips with the wheelbarrows...
Notice how it dominates nearly the entire width of the driveway...man, are we in for it...
The Dirt:
Here, you see the flower beds in front of the house. This is where the aforementioned 6 or 8 wheelbarrows of dirt went. I think it looks much better than those poky red-orange landscaping stones, and this won't hurt my feet!
Yeah, it's a bit messy, but hey...plants will be cozy and happy in the spring!
More of The Dirt in progress...you may remember the post about having a big hole from the pool in the back yard. Well, this is where all the red-orange landscaping stones went, and where the majority of the dirt had to go.
As you can see...this will take a while...
The Dirt pile - updated. This is after about 2 hours of working...
Another view of the "pool" after 2 hours...
Surveying The Dirt/the damage...also, trying to figure out if what they dropped off was really 10 yards of dirt...

The pool was pretty much my project. The boys brought back the dirt, and I got to rake it and level it...yeah, my back was NOT happy with me...it still isn't...here it is after oh, 3 1/2 hours...
And last but not least...the finished product(s). We had no intention of using dirt in all these areas, but we had so much left over, and so many un-level areas in the yard...
The big flower bed:
The pool:
The North side of the house (this was not intended to happen, but it was very uneven):
The South side of the house (again, not intended...):
And, the driveway...NO MORE PILE!!! YAY!!!
I hope you all enjoyed the journey of The Dirt today...

It only hurts...
When I move...today is definitely going to be a day for Motrin. Cletus and I (and Bergie), moved what had to be 14 yards of dirt from the driveway to random areas throughout the yard. I should be able to post pics either this afternoon, or maybe when I get home from work...I wouldn't count on it though! lol
Anyhoo...it was a pretty good weekend. I ordered shoes and I absolutely LOVE how they look. However, when I actually had a chance to walk around in them...I didn't like how they fit. Looks like I'll be going for pair #3 soon. There's a huge shoe store downtown that I'm going to check out. I hear it's HUGE (2 floors of shoes), and they carry TONS of wedding shoes. Best of all, they carry the brand of the #3 shoes that I want to check out. I never thought buying shoes would be so difficult...I guess that's where my picky-ness comes to a head.
Gotta finish getting ready for work now...Watch for dirt pics today and tomorrow.

Why?
Why is it that I feel like I can't do anything right lately? Why do I feel like I'm ruining one of the best things that has happened to me? Why do I get so irritated by something I can't control? Why am I so hard on myself and others? Why do I feel the need for everything to be so perfect? Why can't I just sit back and let life happen to me the way God intended it to. I know it will anyways, but why do I have to be so resistant to it? What do I need to change about myself, and where do I start? Why can't I have the motivation to do something that will make me feel so much better when it's completed? Why can't I just be content with things the way they are? Why do I feel so sad lately? I just don't understand...

Murphy's Law...or WHAT???
This morning at work, I and 3 other coworkers were given a project that needed to be completed sometime yesterday. It only took a total of about an hour or so, but felt like forever. Now, I hardly EVER get any phone calls while I'm at work. Cletus text's me when he goes on break, but outside of that I might talk to my sisters once a day, maybe once every couple of days. No big deal, right? Here's the funny part...we all get this project, and about 3/4 of the way through it, Cletus texts me. I tell him I just got a project and can't chat long. He says no biggie, love you, talk to you later. About 2 minutes after I text him back, my sister calls to make sure her new cell number is actually working. Then, about 2 minutes after that, my brother calls my cell. I'm in the middle of this huge project so I say to myself 'I'll call ya back in 10' and let the phone ring. Then, he called me on my work phone, so I answered. Got the phone number for him that he needed and told him to call back if for whatever reason he couldn't get through on that one. About 30 seconds after I hung up with him, another co-worker called me to let me know the IT guy was bringing the overnights up to me. About a minute after that one, my brother called me back to get a different phone number cause he didn't get an answer on the first one. By this time I'm about ready to rip my hair out cause my report isn't balancing.
Here's a little more of a funny...while I was on the phone with my brother the first time, he says "I just talked to her (my sister) literally an hour ago". So I had to tell him that she had just called me 2 minutes before to make sure her new cell number was working and that's why he didn't get her on her old cell number. OYE!!! My head is hurting just thinking about it! lol
Long story short...I hardly get phone calls, then the one day I have a huge project to get done ASAP I get 2 texts, and 5 phone calls in a 10 minute time frame!!!
On another note, exactly one year ago today, my mom and I were on our way to Ireland!!! What was a once in a lifetime trip was ruined thanks to travelocity .com. If you want more on that story, you can read the Travelocity Story here. I will never, ever, ever, ever, EVER use Travelocity again. They didn't do a darn thing for us. It's hard to believe it's been a whole year...I sooooo want to go back!

**SIGH** Fall...
I love fall. The smell of the air, the leaves changing colors, the pumpkins...Halloween!!! I'm very excited about Halloween this year. Cletus and I will be handing out candy in our new neighborhood. We get to see all the neighborhood munchkins all dressed up! Another thing that I love about fall...the cider mills. I absolutely LOVE fresh donuts and fresh HOT cider. Quite possibly the best taste ever. Especially the cinnamon donuts...yummy!!! Cletus and I are going to a cider mill today and I can't wait!!!
Earlier today, we got some pumpkins too. Maybe later I'll take some pics of me with mine and Cletus with his so I can post them. Obviously, they aren't carved yet...that won't happen for a couple more weeks but that will definately be documented as well! So stay tuned for updates!

Kitty update
Unfortunately, one of the kittens (Alvin) was able to escape the fortress that was set up for them. That being said, they went to the Rochester Hills Michigan Humane Society this afternoon. :-( The really, really, really bad part of the story, is that the Humane Societies in Michigan aren't "no kill" shelters...so please...please, please, please...give these kitties a good home!!!

Hooray for Friday!!!
I am so, so, so glad that today is Friday!!! I'm ready for the weekend. Work got crazy because I was sick 2 days and took half days, but I'm almost caught back up.
Cletus and I are making some "cosmetic" changes around the house. Mostly yard stuff, but I can't wait to plant all of my own flowers next spring! My raspberry bushes haven't died yet, then again I haven't tried to do anything to them since I planted them. lol Cletus said "Oh my gosh, I'm marrying Martha fricking Stuart" last weekend because I had planted the raspberries earlier in the week, and was working on making lasagna on Saturday. It was pretty funny!!!
Now...WHO LIKES KITTIES!!??!!?? My sister has 3 kittens that she's trying to find a home for. They were brought into the veterinary hospital she was working at when they were about a week old. She bottle fed them, has kept them housed, warm and fed for the last 7 weeks. They are now 8 weeks old and need a home so that she doesn't have to take them to a shelter. They haven't been fixed yet (won't be ready for that til December or January), still have their claws (but softpaws are WONDERFUL!), and will be in need of vaccines very, very soon. If you are in the Metro Detroit area (preferably around Waterford) and are interested, email me your information (name and phone number) at peanutpublications@yahoo.com, and I will have her call you. See the pics below...
Alvin (Male)
Simone (Female)
Theodore (Male)
These kitties need a home as soon as possible. We wanted to find homes for them by the end of this week but we haven't had any luck...PLEASE HELP FIND HOMES FOR THESE KITTIES!!!

Hair N Stuff
This past Saturday I went to get my hair trimmed in an attempt to keep it healthy and to grow it out a little bit before the wedding. The place that I went is right around the corner from the house, and only 20 minutes from the church, so that's fantastic! Here's the fun part of the story...I walk in, tell them I want a trim and start chatting with 2 of the hairdressers while my hair is being cut. I started asking about up-do's, half up-do's, and wedding-do's. They're all right around the same price so I think I'm going to use them. The trial run costs the same amount too, and it's not $100 like some places! At one point they asked who was getting married. Well, me...duh! lol So we keep chatting, and when my hair is all trimmed up, I go to the counter to pay and the lady that was cutting my hair asked me "How old are you?" Surprised, I replied with "Well, I'm 27." Kind of curious as to why she asked, but she said "What???!!! You're 27??? I didn't think you were any older than 18!!!" I laughed and said "Thank you!!! But I'll be 28 in February!" It made me feel pretty good!
Ok, so I'm getting a little excited about going to the florist on 11/1. My mom is coming with us, and I've decided that I'm going to schedule a 'trial run' for my hair the same day just to see how long it's going to take, and how well my hair will do. It doesn't like being forced to do much of anything, so we'll see! I guess I should buckle down and figure out exactly what I want her to do...I have a few ideas swimming around in my head, and lots of pictures that I can print, but it's going to be a matter of how it actually looks on me, with my veil and all that good stuff. Should be fun!!! Oh yeah, I'm open to suggestions too.

Yay! It's done!!!
I didn't finish it the other night like I was hoping to...but I finished it tonight!!!
Check it out Jaibee!!!
On another note...I think I'm finally back to normal. I was still kinda stuffy today, but that's pretty much gone now! Yippee!!!
Now onto the wedding stuff...it's getting to be crunch time. We have to decide on a cake flavor, flowers (we have an appointment on the first with a florist), gotta register, finalize the wedding shower, have the girls order their dresses, get the tuxes taken care of , get the invitation "extras" taken care of (maps, etc), and getting the hotel booked for our wedding night. :-D Still lots to do, and only 7 months to do it!

No fun...No fun at all!!!
Being sick sucks. That's all there is to it! I started feeling icky last Monday. It came and went a little bit each day, but today...I was just weak all over, worn out, stuffy, sore throat, and crabby-crabby-crabby!!! I took a half day from work, stopped at the store for some orange juice and chicken noodle soup, and came home. When I got home, I took some medicine, poured a glass of oj (even after my near orange juice over-dose on Friday), and took a nap. I'm feeling a little better, but will be taking more medicine before bed tonight!
On the puzzle front, I've got part of the kangaroo put together, and will hopefully be able to finish it tonight!!!
This weekend was pretty good to. Cletus and Hoopah went to the MSU-Iowa game on Saturday which left me with an empty house. I actually got the stuff done that I needed to, except for actually baking the lasagna for the party on Sunday. That stuff takes friggin forever...but MAN is it good!!!
The party was a lot of fun too. Both of my sisters (plus one sister's hubby) were here with their little ones, my aunt, uncle, cousin and his girlfriend were here, another of my cousins was here, then there were me and Cletus. It was a full house, but it was a really good time! I was pretty proud of myself for having my first attempt at lasagna turn out as well as it did. My mom had some adjustments that she usually uses on the same recipe, so I took her advice with all but one part. I got many complements! :-) Yes, I'm tooting my own horn!!!

Talk about timing...
Ok, I've made zero progress on the puzzle since last post. Which reminds me...I need to ask Cletus to put it out of harms way since Hoopah is coming by for the weekend. I'd be pretty bummed if something happened to it.
So, yesterday I started feeling kinda icky. I took some Nyquil before bed because I wanted to "nip it in the bud" before it got too bad. Here's my take on Nyquil: If you get to sleep, do your best to stay that way. If I don't get woke up in the middle of the night, I'm golden in the morning. If I do get woke up...even an hour before I have to get up, it's nearly impossible for me to wake up completely when I need to. Hence, what happened last night and this morning. I took the meds at about 9:00 (mistake #1 I know), went to bed at 10ish...I think...I don't even remember. Woke up at oh, 5 am for whatever reason and was wide-friggin-awake!!! It took me 15 minutes to go back to sleep, and then I couldn't wake up when my alarm went off. GRR! When I finally got up, I was greeted with a mild sore throat (much better than the other day), but with a severely plugged nose! And I was dizzy...crazy dizzy. Not to the point of vertigo, but to the point that I couldn't really focus. So, me in my infinite wisdom, I decide to stop at Kroger on my way to work to get some cough drops and orange juice. OJ doesn't agree with me in the morning at all, but alas...I drank away. About 50 oz later (in an hour), I was almost doubled over in pain. The rest of the oj went down the drain and now I'm just sticking to water. I will never drink that much oj that fast again...especially in the morning when I know my tummy can't handle it. It sucked!!! Luckily, my day is starting to look up. Only a few hours left of work, then I can go home and take a nap...
Now on to the rest of the weekend..............Cletus and Hoopah are going to the MSU football game tomorrow, which leaves me with an empty house! An empty house that needs to be cleaned by Sunday. So, I'm going to dope myself up at about 7 tonight, go to bed around 9 if I can keep myself up that long, sleep as long as my body lets me, and get up to bust my little booty getting the house straightened up. Maybe I'll even get to go through some of my stuff that I haven't been doing since I moved in. Sunday, we're having a bunch of family over cause my sis and bro-in-law are both in town for a couple weeks. My sis lives here, but he doesn't. I have an added project on Sunday of making a double batch of lasagna. Should be good times! Hopefully I can kick this cold in the butt before then. Pray for me!!!

I...am a nerd...
I looked at the calendar this morning and started thinking "we only have 6 1/2 months left!" Well, Cletus pointed out that I'm a nerd and said "we have 7 1/2 months". Oh well, so I'm a little excited!!! This month, I have to get my 'undergarments' for my gown, and have the girls start ordering their dresses. Next month (hopefully) I will go in for my first fitting. I'm pretty sure I will only need one fitting, but I would rather start early and have it done than to wait until the last minute. I also have an appointment set up with a florist in town to actually talk to a floral designer. I found some super cool boutonniere's for the guys...I'm anxious to see if Cletus likes them.
Getting up this morning wasn't as bad as I expected. It took me a little while to peel my behind out of bed, but once I fully woke up, I was ok. Unfortunately, waking up this morning, I was greeted with a pretty sore throat, and now my nose is just randomly running. Oh well, it's all good...
Happy Humpday!!!
