This weekend was great!!!

First off, I had a much needed day off on Friday which was FANTASTIC!!! For once, the weekend felt like a weekend, and not just another day.

It's been about two weeks since I've posted anything, partially because I haven't had any really good ideas rolling around in my head, and partially because I just haven't been motivated. The last few weeks I've been getting more and more exhausted...and I've been getting more and more drained. Work is wearing on me like crazy right now, but I'll get over that eventually. Most of the time at work all I want to do is come home to get stuff FINALLY organized. Oh well...guess I'll have to stop letting work get me so worn out. Force some motivation into my bones when I get home...or, maybe I just need to put the computer down!!! LOL

Anyways, this weekend was great. Friday was a relatively easy day. I did 4 loads of laundry, and not a whole lot more! It was nice to get that taken care of. We were supposed to be getting a new bedroom set delivered Friday also, but that didn't end up happening due to issues at the store, and certain pieces being not being available all at the same time. That's another story in itself though. Also, the hubby's brother and girlfriend came down that day, so we had a houseful after, oh, noon I think.

Saturday, we got up and started getting the old bedroom stuff ready to be moved out of the room so that the delivery dudes could put the new stuff up there. Believe me...there's another story here too...maybe I will post that in a day or so. Well! We got all the drawers emptied, and all the furniture moved out and loaded into Michael's truck. Then we got around so we could all get ready to go to the Tigers game...which, by the way...they WON!!! Woohoo!!! The game was really good, and there were a couple of foul balls that came really close to us...by close I mean within about 5 rows, or about 10 feet away.

Final Scoreboard...

Sunday was delivery day :-) We got our new, wonderful, beautiful bedroom furniture, and a new mattress which was WELL overdue! Check it out! :-)

The dresser...

The bed! With the new mattress!!!

I haven't gotten a picture of the chest yet...I was too excited about the bed!!! LOL

Oh yeah...completely off topic...we have bunnies in the back yard too!

Ok, gotta get crackin'...

Must...Get...Sleep...

Ok, this weekend was CRAZY. Michael headed to Kinde Friday afternoon, so I had the house to myself. I had big plans for that night, and actually got quite a bit done! Stickered about 85 catalogs, postcards, candle care cards, and opportunity brochures. Also got 3 loads of laundry washed and dried. None of which have been put away yet. Well, Friday night went on and on. I was watching "16 & Pregnant" on MTV, and plugging away at my catalogs and such. Before I knew it, it was 11:30!!! I got everything cleaned up, somewhat organized and headed to bed. Set my alarm for 7 am (UUGGH!), and actually managed to peel my behind out of bed the second time it went off. I started finishing my party stuff, and got our card table out to load in the Jeep. Well, got everything finished and loaded in the jeep by about 11, but still had to take a shower and pack for the trip up to Kinde. Ate a quick lunch, talked to my hubby and sis about some lilac bushes, and got in the shower. I had a show in Clarkston at 3:00 that I needed to be at around 2:30 to set up. So! Got my shower in, packed some clothes, got my hair and makeup done, and headed out the door! Show went alright...got packed up, headed up to Kinde! Got about 30 minutes away from my Clarkston show, and my girlfriend (the hostess) called to tell me that I forgot my scent boxes!!! AAHH!!! That's not good!!! But, I couldn't go back...and it really didn't make sense for her to meet me since my show on Sunday was in Bad Axe.

Finally got to Kinde Saturday night around 7:30. Hung out with some peeps, had some food, had some drinks and good conversation, then headed to the in laws house! Watched the annual "Michael's Fireworks Display", and headed to bed. Yeah. It was 11 ish again. Got up at 8 am Sunday morning for church...had brunch about an hour after we got home, took an hour to get all 13 people fed, then had to start getting ready for my show. Went to Bad Axe, show went well, headed back to the in-laws again for supper at 5:00. Got everything packed back up again, and headed back south! Got home around 8:30, unloaded, reorganized, and attempted to shut my brain off...that didn't happen until...you guessed it...about 11:00. GRRR.

Today, I was totally distracted at work. Thinking about all of the things that I could be doing at home. Days like that are TORTURE!!! But, here's the good stuff!!! I have a dark orange (well, looks almost pink...kind of...) lily, and now, 5 lilac bushes planted in the back yard! Check it out!!!

Yellow, yellow, orange, yellow!

Ain't she a beaut?!?!

4th of July Weekend

Well, last weekend, I got to ride in a Model A again. Those things are so cool! The hubby's dad has 4 that will be in the parade next year, but this year there was only 2 of them. It was fun trying to smile with a swollen cheek! lol Anyways...Michael got his picture taken with Miss Michigan. She was the Grand Marshall for the parade. He was so excited to finally find her before the parade started! The whole weekend was fun for the most part...except for the fact that I had to eat soft foods Thursday evening when we got to Kinde, and pretty much all day on Friday. I think I lost 5 lbs!!! Oh well, this weekend will be even MORE fun! The whole family will be together!

Now, here's what I SHOULD be doing right now...I have 2 shows this weekend, and I'm not completely ready for them. I need to be putting labels on catalogs, getting hostess packets together, and wrapping candles! But, I'm blogging...it will get done though :-) I'm so excited about this this time. It's my 3rd shot at this, and I'm really looking forward to it working out. I have one or two sponsoring leads already, I have 6 or 7 shows up for the next few weeks, and I just got my first online order! Yippee!!! I pray that this works out this time...I'm going to work harder at it this time than I have in the past.

Totally unrelated...I have another lily that is about to bloom, and the bud looks almost red. I'm very excited to see what color it is! The lady at work that gave them to me said it might be a regular orange one, or a really dark orange one...yay! My sunflowers are growing like crazy too! Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the photos to upload! Wah! Anyways, 2 of them are about 2 feet tall. :-)

Woohoo! Got the pics to upload...check 'em out!

Well, I need to get to it all...

Lessons learned...

So, I had my right lower wisdom tooth removed last Thursday. I was not looking forward to it one bit...as you would know from previous posts from before the wedding. I was supposed to have both of the lower wisdom teeth pulled before the wedding, but freaked out and chickened out. Well...one down now, and one to go. I guess it went alright...it was pretty scary for me, but I lived! LOL Did you know that your jaw can break from the pressure of pushing down on a tooth hard enough? I had no idea!!! The surgeon was on my right, and the assistant on my left. One round of Novocaine was administered (in about 4 shots total), as well as the goopy local anaesthesia. They let me sit there for about 10 minutes to get good and numb. The surgeon and the assistant came back into the room, asked if I was numb or tingly, and I told them that my tongue was numb, but my lip was kind of tingly. The surgeon said "Ok, well we're going to go ahead and get started. Just raise your left hand if you feel anything at all." OK!!! NO PROBLEM!!! She made the first cut and I raised my hand. She said "You felt that????" So obviously I said "Yes, not a whole lot, but I felt a little bit." That's when I found out it wasn't "going to get any better", so they gave me another round of Novocaine. I was good and numb then, and they got to work!

This is when it gets good...

Surgeon on my right...assistant on my left. Surgeon has all the good tools. The drill, the chisel, the plier things...the works. The assistant has the sucking thing and a napkin pretty much. Out comes the drill...yay! Then the chisel. Wait...what are you going to do with that??? The assistant puts her arm under my jaw and says "This is just to support your jaw so it doesn't break". What??? Then the surgeon says "You're going to feel a lot of pressure, and hear a crack..." What??? CRACK. Yeah, apparently that was my tooth breaking into a couple of pieces. Gross. Anyways...more drilling, lots of digging, and a LOT more pushing on my tooth with that stupid chisel. By this time I'm starting to get tingly again...which means the numbness is starting to wear off already. It's only been another 10 minutes, come on!!! Out come about 3 pieces of my tooth. At least that's all I saw. Who knows how much there really was that came out. They stitched me up, gave me my post-op directions, and sent me on my way. Pain killer, anti-infection drugs, and a steroid. The hubby and I headed back home to grab our stuff for the weekend, and were on our way to Kinde! The doc told me to call if I was still numb after 6 hours. Well...after 6 hours, I was asleep. Still numb, but asleep. So I called in the morning and left a message. Didn't hear back for the whole weekend, but kept up per doctors orders with the gauze, meds, and the hot/cold compress stuff. It actually wasn't TOO bad.

Yesterday, I got to work and decided I would call the office to see if I needed to do anything...seeing as I was STILL partially numb. The lady on the phone proceeded to tell me "You should have called that night. They needed to call in an emergency prescription for you." Well, the emergency prescription was the steroid...which I already had. She came back on the phone and said that they needed to see me...like...3 days ago to check on it. So now, I'm going BACK in on Thursday morning for who knows what. I'm thinking x-rays or something to see the extent of the nerve damage. Yay. Now, the partially numb part is this...there's a spot in the front of my jaw on the right side that is numb to the touch, but if I pinch, I can feel it...go figure!

When I was trying to take my meds before bed last night, I grabbed a couple of those yummy vanilla sandwich cookies and some water. I went to bite into one of them and felt this searing pain! I couldn't figure out what it was... I bit again. Searing pain again...what in the world??? Then I realized that I was biting a very small part of my lip! Yeah, NOTE to SELF....If your lip is half NUMB...DO NOT attempt to eat HARD sandwich cookies without using your FINGER to make sure your LIP is not between your TEETH AND THE COOKIE!!!!! OUCH!!!! LMBO!!!!
Just think...I get to do all of this over again in two weeks for the left side!!! Hopefully that side goes a little bit easier since the tooth is more accessible... :-(

I'll blog about the weekend activities in Kinde shortly...

Wedding Money Put to Good Use!

Yes, we added up all of the wedding money (ya know, the day after the wedding almost 2 wonderful months ago now), and we're getting a new bedroom set and a new mattress!!! YES!!! Now, my hubby will either not toss and turn as much, or if he does, he won't wake me up every time! Woohoo!!!!!!!! I really like the set too...it's gorgeous, and was pretty affordable! I can't wait to get it set up in our room to see how it looks with the paint. :-)

On a completely unrelated note...and this will kind of reinforce the fact that I am kind of strange...Have you ever tasted the liquid French Vanilla Coffee Mate coffee creamer? I tastes a lot like Lucky Charm's!!! LOL

Anyways...on with your day :-)
