Sorry for My Absence...

I know...I've already missed a Weekend Recap, and a Wordless Wednesday, but I've been dealing with a sick little girl over here. :-(

I'll be back soon. I promise.

God bless...

Flashback Friday!

I just have to go back to my trip to Ireland in 2007.

Michael and I were packing some things up the other night in order to get our house ready to list, and I came across the notebook that I bought while my mom and I were there. I kept a journal every day of what we did and it brought back so many memories! It took everything I had to NOT sit there and read the whole thing all over again...

So, without further adieu...some pictures! Enjoy!

On the way to Killarney

On the way to Kinsale

We were driving about 45 mph this close to this tanker truck!!!

Dublin Castle. This was the last original standing tower.

Christ Church Cathedral. There was a gentleman singing in here the day that we went in. MAN was he good!!!

Kinsale - SOOO pretty. The whole town was like this!

Aaaah, a quick trip down memory lane...

God bless!

A Little Update

Things have been kind of crazy around here the last few weeks. I'm going to try to keep up with the items that I posted for 2013, but like I said...I make no promises! Just please don't hate me if I randomly go on hiatus. :-)

Last Wednesday, the kids started getting sick. Both of them had a cough, but that was it. No fever, no runny noses, just a cough. Thursday, Justin spiked a very, very low grade fever. I figured it was most likely teething related. The next day, both kids were coughing like crazy, starting to sound congested, and just all around "blah" feeling. Yay for being sick! Michael and I both were starting to feel it, too...joy. Random out of nowhere nasty head cold - 4. The fam - 0.

The days went on, and congestion and coughs got worse. Julia never got that bad, but I remember getting Justin out of bed one morning, and seeing thick green snot dried all around his nose and his mouth. Yummy!!! Anyways...I managed to get it all cleaned off of him with minimal screaming (this kid does NOT like having his face touched). By this time, Julia had started telling me her ear hurt. She has never done this before, so I had to take her seriously. I called the doctor the next day to schedule an appointment for both of them. Thankfully, they had an opening fairly early in the morning, so in we went! I knew they both had colds, and that it wasn't the flu (thank goodness!), and fully expected ear infections thanks to the fabulous cold. What I wasn't expecting, was bad double ear infections, for both kids. :-( Poor babies...no wonder Justin has been waking us up screaming at night!!! And poor Julia!!! She's never told us that her ears hurt before even though she's had quite a few ear infections...so it must have been pretty bad. I felt terrible, but I was glad that it wasn't something major. Now, we have 4 bottles of amoxicillin in the fridge. They've both been on it for a little over 24 hours (will get their 4th dose this morning when they wake up), and I'm patiently awaiting the night that little imaginary switch gets flipped, and Justin starts sleeping better again! This mama is T.I.R.E.D.

I've come to the conclusion that Justin is feeling super crummy because of 1) the cold. 2) the ear infection, and 3) teething. Poor little man! The picture that I posted yesterday was just a glimpse into how my entire day went.

Maybe I should just thank him for helping to prepare us for baby #3's arrival with the lack of sleep we're getting! LOL

Ok. Totally unrelated...we're house hunting!!! If things go the way we're planning, we're going to be moving and having a baby all within the same week...EEK! Oh well...we need to do this. We've needed to do this for a while now. This house is not big enough for 2 adults and 3 children. I mean, it is, but not comfortably! So, if you're reading this, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that things work out smoothly with the whole transition when it does happen.

That's all for now! Have a happy Thursday!

What to Expect from ME in 2013!!!

Forgive me for rushing through this post, but I have something else that I want to tackle - writing wise - and I need to get this one finished first!

A few years back, I had a fun little post that I would do each week. It was "Time Warp Tuesday". I would either post a picture from 'back in the day' or I would link back to an old story and reminisce about it on a new post. I think I'm going to do that again because it's fun to look back at where I was, and what was going on in the past!

So, here's my new "schedule". I hope to stick with it as much as possible, but please don't be surprised if I can't keep up with it every single week! I will probably start next week, so be on the lookout!

»Monday - Mondays will be my "Weekend Recap" days. I'll try to get on and post about the happenings of the weekend, and any highlights of things that went on.
»Wednesday - Aaah...Wednesday. I'm sure you all have seen "Wordless Wednesday" on a handful of blogs before. Well...I'm going to post one photo each Wednesday with a simple caption.
»Friday - "Flashback Friday's"!!! Yeah, it used to be on Tuesdays, but I'm moving it. :-)

Now for a few "resolutions". I don't usually make resolutions anymore. I never keep them, except for maybe one year. I'm setting goals for myself for this year. Things to just work on. I in now way intend to perfect these items, but to simply take a few steps in the right direction.

First and foremost - I want to be a better wife and mother. Yeah, we have baby #3 on the way, due in only a few short months, so my hands are going to be incredibly tied...but I need to do this. Before we had kids, and even when I was still pregnant with Julia, and shortly after she was born, I did a lot more around the house. Yeah...2 more kids later, I can see where slacking off might be allowed, but I know I'm capable. I know I can do better. So for now, I'm going to focus on doing one thing each day. Whether it's vacuuming, sweeping, throwing in a load of laundry, not waiting until the end of the day to put the dishes in the dishwasher...you get the idea.

Second - I NEED to be a better friend. I feel like I'm on the verge of losing friendships all over the place right now. So, this year, I'm going to do my best to be the one to email/message/call them at least once a week. Hey, if I can talk to my sister on the phone every other day, or text/message/whatever all the time, I can absolutely talk to someone that I need to make an effort to keep in touch with. My sister is family...she ain't going anywhere...lol My friendships, well, they take work. They're my chosen family, and I need to do my best to keep them close to my heart, too, and prove to them that they are worth the effort. I've failed miserably at this in the past.

Third - As much as this pains me...I need to read up on more political stuff. I do not like the direction this country is heading...AT ALL...and I need to know what I can do to keep my freedoms my freedoms. Watch for more of this in my next post. Maybe later today, maybe in the next couple of days.

Fourth - I need to be "neater". I actually called myself a slob the other day, just because I couldn't find the battery charger for my camera. It was *in* my laptop bag instead of my camera bag. That's not a slobby thing in my eyes, but it made me realize that deep down inside, I know I can do better than I have been. :-)

What do you have planned for 2013? What are your thoughts on my bloggy blog plans?

Well, if you've made it this far, thanks for reading!!! The kids are starting to stir, so I need to get them up and get the day started.

God bless!!!

Plans that Fall Through

One thing that I'm going to try to work on this year (and you will see this in my 2013 post), is being a better friend. I have friends that I haven't talked to in weeks, or worse, months. I have friends that I was supposed to do things with that I never did. Friends that I don't want to lose, and friends that I'm beginning to wonder if I deserve their friendship based simply on the fact that it is partly my fault that we aren't in touch as often as we should be.

But...what about the friends that you make plans with, and something "comes up" and the plans fall through? I'm not talking about sickness or anything along those lines. That's completely understandable. I hate going places when someone is there knowing full well that they or one of their family members are contagious. This is the number one reason that I don't go places if I, Michael, or the kids are sick. I don't want to be responsible for someone else catching a bug that will put them out for any period of time. That I can deal with. What about when you make plans with someone that will take place one of two days, only to find out that the person you waited around for all day decided to leave the state, won't be back in the time frame of your plans, and they didn't tell you? That's what I don't care for. A simple heads up would work...something along the lines of "Hey, I'm going to do this instead" would suffice much better than finding out after sitting around on your tush, putting off errands and other plans that you could have handled in that time frame. *sigh* One of the things I guess I need to get over. I guess not everyone is going to cancel ahead of time, but some will rather cancel after the fact...so-to-speak.

Anywho. Time to start dinner!
God bless!

Coming soon!!!

Over the next few days, I will be posting a "Best of 2012", a "Plans for 2013", and will be updating my P52 blog as well. I dropped the ball with posting photos over there, so there will be a rather large update, as well as a new promise to try and stay on top of it this year!

God bless,
