What. A. Day.

It's been a pretty busy and tiring day! It started early this morning with Michael moving the bathroom vent. Then, we went to the bank and to our local nursery to get some flowers for the front flower beds. When we got home, all four of us were hanging out in the front of the house - Justin in the stroller, Julia running around, Michael and I working in the flower bed. I pulled weeds and worked up the dirt. Michael followed behind me raking it level. Then...I placed the flowers where I wanted them, and Michael dug the holes. By then, it was lunch time, and Justin was already down for a nap. Michael took Julia inside to give her some lunch, and I planted all of the flowers. After I got everything put away, I went back inside and had some lunch, then grabbed a not so quick shower. We all got dressed and headed off to church! When we got home, we had dinner, then headed out to the back yard, figured out where the rows were going to be, and got to planting! We now have peas, beans, cucumbers, carrots and squash in the ground. I also have tomatoes and peppers in cups inside. I started them pretty late, so they're pretty small. We'll see how successful those are this year. Oh...and somewhere in all of that...we did 3 loads of laundry! I am whooped, but I will still probably be up until 10:00 reading my book!

Today, I started a week long detox. A lot of people are calling it a diet (technically...it is called a diet), but it's not. At least not in my eyes! It's already been somewhat challenging...but I'm up for it! Today was "all fruit (no bananas) day. For breakfast I had a grapefruit, some watermelon, and a few strawberries. A.M. snack was an apple and half of an avocado (yes, it's technically a fruit), lunch was watermelon, cantaloupe, and pineapple. Dinner was yet more watermelon, cantaloupe, raspberries, and one very unripe kiwi. I didn't eat the whole thing. P.M. snack (so far) has been a large handful of grapes. I want some tortilla chips SO bad...but I can do this!

Tomorrow...bring on the vegetables!!!

Sorry for the big jumbled mess of a post. I'm sleepy!

God bless!

  2. It really is nice to have the gardens going! I can't wait to see if what I planted this year does better than last year...some of it was quite the flop!

As for the books, I've lovingly dubbed them "the latest smut". Haha! I'm reading the Fifty Shades Trilogy. Just started the third book yesterday! They're so far off the spectrum of what I normally read...but I'm really enjoying them!

I hope your sunburn gets better quick!

  3. I finished all the Hunger Games books in a week's time. Since I started out completely immersed in book reading to all of a sudden empty handed...I downloaded Fifty Shades of Gray...and then quickly put it aside!

During and after reading the Hunger Games Trilogy I was having dream after dream of the series...could you imagine what kind of dreams I would of had while reading Fifty Shades of Gray?!?!?! Lol!!! ;)

It's been a few weeks though so I think I'm going to try Fifty Shades again ;)

    Enjoy your reading!!! :)

  4. Thankfully, I haven't had any "Fifty" related dreams yet! LOL!!!

They really have been enjoyable for me. All 3 of them have had me laughing (out loud!), near tears, and completely engrossed. With the way they're written, I feel like I'm *in* the story.

I have the Hunger Games books on my "to-read" list on Goodreads, after I finish the Harry Potter series which I still have 2 3/4 books to go on! lol

Do you have any other book recommendations?

    Take care,
    ~Stacy

  5. I don't know if you have ever heard of this author before...her name is Daphne DuMaurier. In highschool I was to read her book "Rebecca" for a report. I fell in love with her upon finishing and since I have been buying her books as I come across them.

Two years ago I was camping with my family during the summer. I like to bring a book with me when I go up north that will match my setting so I chose her novel "Frenchman's Creek". I'm tellin you, girl, if you are looking for a good summer read and that love story that makes you wish for the woods and the water...lol...you will love that book!

Daphne is quite the descriptive story teller so there is a lot of depth when it comes to depicting the main character's surroundings. In that sense, there was some patience needed on my part ;) but the story line caught me quick and I finished it in only a few days!
(And I was totally wishing that Frenchman would miraculously show up out of nowhere when I was out on my kayak ;)

With what you said about "Gray"...I'm going to open the book as soon as I submit this comment...!!! lol!!!

  6. When you start reading Grey, pay close attention to the email subjects and the way Grey's email signature changes!

I'll have to check out that author and book you mentioned! Consider it added to my "to-read" list on Goodreads. :-)
