Support Pimpin

I was on my way to the bank yesterday when I saw something that totally rubbed me the wrong way. I'm all about supporting our troops in Iraq, and everywhere else they are. I am very thankful that there are people in this country willing to die so I and my family can be happy. I even have a few of those ribbon magnets. One is green camouflauge colored, and I have a couple of yellow ones that have a SeaBee in the middle, but they all say "Support Our Troops". My sister was in the Navy, and her husband still is. I don't have them on my car because one got stolen. Now, here's where my gripe comes in...those magnets (if I'm not mistaken) were created for the troops originally. So when I saw this one on the car in front of me yesterday, I wanted to get out of my car and give the driver an earful. "Support Pimpin" on a ribbon magnet???? Come on. There are people dying so this dummy can be a smart ass...I guess I just don't see the humor. Oh well, that's my gripe.

  1. Hey! I have an idea!

If you are so concerned about our troops dying in Iraq, how about getting them home? Perhaps you could even volunteer to go help them!

Do you really think wasting everyones time getting all red-faced on your blog about a dumb magnet is helping?

By the way, how is that big 'hunt' for Osama Bin Laden going? What is it now- one TRILLION dollars and we can't even locate ONE guy?

The Bin Laden's are personal friends of the Bushes- maybe they could just grab him during a golf outing or something.

The man at the helm attacks the wrong country, can't locate the man responsible for 9-11, tanks the economy and the dollar, and you're all angry about a refrigerator magnet on some idiot's Pinto.

    Makes sense to me.

    P.S. Support Pimpin'!

  3. Ok, ""bradley""...where anywhere in this post did I say I was "concerned about our troops dying in Irag"????? NOWHERE!! I said I'm PROUD OF THEM for being WILLING to die for the idiots in this country to be able to disrespect them, and have freedom. I have MANY family members that either have served or are serving this country around the world right now.

Maybe I am wasting everyone's time by griping...but hey, I don't care, would you like to know why? Because I have whats called freedom of speech. Just like you. Because of these brave, unselfish, dedicated men and women who fight for us. I can say whatever I want on this blog, and just as easily as I can say it, you can disagree with it...or in this case, put words in my mouth.

It looks to me like you would much sooner support prostitution then to support the people that help keep our freedom a reality.

I hope you can sleep well tonight, thanks for visiting.

    Witness your own post:

"I'm all about supporting our troops in Iraq...[story]... Come on. There are people dying so this dummy can be a smart ass."

Here I thought that 'supporting the troops' may actually mean caring if they die or not.

Thanks for making it clear that you have no such concern.

A military adventure in Iraq does nothing to preserve or enhance anyone's freedom. On the contrary. Because of this terrorist snipe-hunt we've seen our freedoms diminish.

Once upon a time the military may have done something to create and preserve freedom here in America. That time has long passed.

Our military now only exists to promote the interests of the corporations and the ultra-wealthy.

Here's what a man named Smedly Butler said way back in the 1930's

"There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

I helped make Mexico safe for American oil interests. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested."

This fellow was a *major general* in the USMC, and a fellow Republican back when that meant something good.

That time has long passed also.

  5. Yes I care they're over there dying for other people to be stupid...like I said, I have family over there. Is the war a personal concern? No. I just feel that things mocking our military (and our country in turn) are extremely disrespectful.

Do I blame Bush for everything that's gone wrong since he took office? Not really, some things yes - like the gas prices maybe. But I didn't vote for him...so it's not my fault. Do I wish that my family members could come back home and be with us again? Yes. Do I wish we didn't have to fight? Of course! Do I think it's worth all of the money we've spent on it...probably not. But you know what? There's not a damn thing I can do about it. I'm not going to continuing arguing my personal disgust with disrespectful people with you. It's not worth it.
