Every year for the last...I don't know how many years, my family on my dads side have gotten together on Thanksgiving to celebrate Christmas. There's lots of food, lots of laughing, and lots of fun to be had! We make Thanksgiving dinner potluck/buffet style. Everyone brings a dish to pass, and usually, the host handles the turkey. We do a grab bag gift exchange - usually with home made/hand made gifts - where people can "steal" from someone that has opened their gift. It has gotten pretty scrappy in the past when we've all made home made items. I love this get together, and look forward to it every year. The turkey...the mashed potatoes...the green bean casserole...mmmmmmm. Hanging out with the family members that I may not get to see very often. It's something that I really, really enjoy!!!
This year, however...we didn't get to go. Both kids were sick (still are somewhat), and we didn't want to take the chance of getting anyone else sick. I went ahead and sent my food items and grab gifts over so that we could still participate. When the time came for the gift exchange, my brother-in-law and I got on Skype so that we could "be there" for it all! It was really neat. I'm still bummed that we didn't get to have the usual turkey/mashed potatoes/green bean casserole for dinner, but I will be having a turkey dinner in the very near future! I'm determined :-) Instead, we had venison steak, mashed potatoes and corn. Not too shabby for a last minute dinner.
Anywho...I'll be posting my "One Month of Thanks" in just a few days, so be on the watch for that!
God bless,

My little boy is sick :-(
I'm sitting here while the kids eat their dinner listening to Justin trying to eat through is super stuffy nose. Poor little guy. It started with just teething, then his sister pushed him down yesterday and he smacked his face on the floor resulting in a slight bloody nose and fat lip. Then...this morning he woke up with a low grade fever. Now the fever is up to 102.4 as the meds start wearing off, his nose is so stuffed up that he can't close his mouth to breathe, and he's just miserable.
Poor little dude...

Coming Soon...
Ok, I'm going to try a few theme days again on this little blog-o-mine. Time Warp Tuesdays will be coming back (yay!), and I'm thinking about doing Wordless Wednesday. I've got so many ideas in my head, and I really think I'm going to have to just start using good old pen and paper again. Or maybe I'll just use the note pad on my phone. :-)
Anywho...I'm not 100% sure when they'll start, but watch for them!

Busy, busy, busy!
That's me lately. And my goodness is it making time fly!!! I had my 20 week appointment on Wednesday. TWENTY WEEKS!!! Half way through pregnancy number three and I'm really thinking that time is running right along side me just chasing the kids around the house. *phew*
Anyways...all is well, and I was able to record the heartbeat this week! Two more appointments 4 weeks apart and then I start bi-monthly visits. OYE!
God bless!

My "good" Christmas List Idea
I'm actually quite proud of myself for coming up with this!
Late last year we bought a cork board to keep important things off the table but still accessible. It has come in VERY handy ever since we found it. Now, with Christmas coming up quickly, I had put my Christmas list up on the cork board, and periodically added things to it. As I was looking through store fliers, I kept seeing things I wanted to buy for them. I grabbed a pen and started circling things. But that meant I would have to hold on to the entire flier just for a couple of things. So I started tearing them out, and sticking them on the cork board. Yeah...you can see where this is going! Cluttered cork board, here we come! Then...I had this great idea!
I ran upstairs and found a few envelopes, one for me, one for Michael, and one for each of the kids. I wrote "Christmas Gift Ideas for - NAME - " on the front of the envelope. Threw the pre-existing lists and cut outs into them and tacked them up on the cork board. I explained to Michael that each time he gets an idea for a gift (for anyone) to just grab a sheet of paper off of our 3 X 3 paper cube, write the idea down, and throw it in the envelope. After a couple of days realizing that we would have to take them down every time we wanted to add something, I flipped the envelopes over, folded the flap to the front side and wrote "Christmas Gift Ideas for - NAME - " on the back and placed them back on the cork board. Now, all we have to do is slip things into them, and we have individual pouches with gift ideas for all of us! Sometimes I make me so proud...lol

It's November...
Wait, it's NOVEMBER???!?!?!? Time just keeps going faster and faster. I'm having a hard time keeping up!
The kids have had a very good Halloween. There were two chances to go trick-or-treating downtown this year, and we went both times! That, coupled with last nights festivities, along with our leftover candy from the lack of trick-or-treaters, and we have a heck of a candy stash. I just have to keep my little paws out of it. I've done pretty good so far, so we'll see what they days to come bring.
Here is a picture of the two cutie patooties in their costumes from trick-or-treating this past weekend. I may be partial, but I think they're the cutest kids ever!!!
