Weekend Recap

I know, I know...it's a day late...but I wasn't anywhere near the mindset I needed to be in yesterday to blog.

So! This weekend was a roller coaster for me. Saturday, I got cornered in the bathroom with my daughter at church by a woman that felt it was necessary to tell me that my kids were very disruptive. I don't really feel like reliving the whole thing, so let's just say I bit my tongue, but won't be so nice next time. Sunday, we had our house inspected. That didn't go overly well, either. We found out that the buyers wanted out of the contract, so at this point in time, we've lost the buyers and are back at square one. Yesterday, we found out that the reason we lost the buyers is something that is so easily fixable. So now, we're crossing our fingers that maybe...just maybe...they'll reconsider.

*sigh*

Here's hoping today goes better than the last 3!!!

God bless...

Weekend Recap (a day late!)

This will include more than just Friday through Sunday just because...

We got our house listed on Tuesday night. Between Wednesday and Sunday, we had 14 scheduled showings...FOURTEEN!!! Two cancelled and one was a no show, so 11 actual showings over the course of 5 days. It was nuts for a bit, but it's all good. We got some good news yesterday and late last night, so now...we wait!

I got to hang out with my sister for a bit - kid free - on Sunday since Michael took the kiddos up to his parents house for the annual wild game dinner. No...the kids didn't go to the dinner, but they got some quality time with their great aunt that night. :-)

Other than that, being able to watch a couple of "grown-up" movies, me going to dinner ny myself on Saturday, and being out of the house for a few showings, the weekend was pretty low-key!

How was your weekend?

God bless!

Busy, Busy!

Apparently selling a house is a lot more "work" than I expected...haha! Kind of makes me miss the apartment days when you just pack up at the end of your lease and switch apartments! Ah well. This will be a big change for the better, for sure! Please bear with me, and I will be back up and running again soon. :-)

God bless!

Sorry for My Absence...

I know...I've already missed a Weekend Recap, and a Wordless Wednesday, but I've been dealing with a sick little girl over here. :-(

I'll be back soon. I promise.

Flashback Friday!

I just have to go back to my trip to Ireland in 2007.

Michael and I were packing some things up the other night in order to get our house ready to list, and I came across the notebook that I bought while my mom and I were there. I kept a journal every day of what we did and it brought back so many memories! It took everything I had to NOT sit there and read the whole thing all over again...

So, without further adieu...some pictures! Enjoy!

On the way to Killarney

On the way to Kinsale

We were driving about 45 mph this close to this tanker truck!!!

Dublin Castle. This was the last original standing tower.

Christ Church Cathedral. There was a gentleman singing in here the day that we went in. MAN was he good!!!

Kinsale - SOOO pretty. The whole town was like this!

Aaaah, a quick trip down memory lane...

God bless!

A Little Update

Things have been kind of crazy around here the last few weeks. I'm going to try to keep up with the items that I posted for 2013, but like I said...I make no promises! Just please don't hate me if I randomly go on hiatus. :-)

Last Wednesday, the kids started getting sick. Both of them had a cough, but that was it. No fever, no runny noses, just a cough. Thursday, Justin spiked a very, very low grade fever. I figured it was most likely teething related. The next day, both kids were coughing like crazy, starting to sound congested, and just all around "blah" feeling. Yay for being sick! Michael and I both were starting to feel it, too...joy. Random out of nowhere nasty head cold - 4. The fam - 0.

The days went on, and congestion and coughs got worse. Julia never got that bad, but I remember getting Justin out of bed one morning, and seeing thick green snot dried all around his nose and his mouth. Yummy!!! Anyways...I managed to get it all cleaned off of him with minimal screaming (this kid does NOT like having his face touched). By this time, Julia had started telling me her ear hurt. She has never done this before, so I had to take her seriously. I called the doctor the next day to schedule an appointment for both of them. Thankfully, they had an opening fairly early in the morning, so in we went! I knew they both had colds, and that it wasn't the flu (thank goodness!), and fully expected ear infections thanks to the fabulous cold. What I wasn't expecting, was bad double ear infections, for both kids. :-( Poor babies...no wonder Justin has been waking us up screaming at night!!! And poor Julia!!! She's never told us that her ears hurt before even though she's had quite a few ear infections...so it must have been pretty bad. I felt terrible, but I was glad that it wasn't something major. Now, we have 4 bottles of amoxicillin in the fridge. They've both been on it for a little over 24 hours (will get their 4th dose this morning when they wake up), and I'm patiently awaiting the night that little imaginary switch gets flipped, and Justin starts sleeping better again! This mama is T.I.R.E.D.

I've come to the conclusion that Justin is feeling super crummy because of 1) the cold. 2) the ear infection, and 3) teething. Poor little man! The picture that I posted yesterday was just a glimpse into how my entire day went.

Maybe I should just thank him for helping to prepare us for baby #3's arrival with the lack of sleep we're getting! LOL

Ok. Totally unrelated...we're house hunting!!! If things go the way we're planning, we're going to be moving and having a baby all within the same week...EEK! Oh well...we need to do this. We've needed to do this for a while now. This house is not big enough for 2 adults and 3 children. I mean, it is, but not comfortably! So, if you're reading this, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that things work out smoothly with the whole transition when it does happen.

That's all for now! Have a happy Thursday!

What to Expect from ME in 2013!!!

Forgive me for rushing through this post, but I have something else that I want to tackle - writing wise - and I need to get this one finished first!

A few years back, I had a fun little post that I would do each week. It was "Time Warp Tuesday". I would either post a picture from 'back in the day' or I would link back to an old story and reminisce about it on a new post. I think I'm going to do that again because it's fun to look back at where I was, and what was going on in the past!

So, here's my new "schedule". I hope to stick with it as much as possible, but please don't be surprised if I can't keep up with it every single week! I will probably start next week, so be on the lookout!

»Monday - Mondays will be my "Weekend Recap" days. I'll try to get on and post about the happenings of the weekend, and any highlights of things that went on.
»Wednesday - Aaah...Wednesday. I'm sure you all have seen "Wordless Wednesday" on a handful of blogs before. Well...I'm going to post one photo each Wednesday with a simple caption.
»Friday - "Flashback Friday's"!!! Yeah, it used to be on Tuesdays, but I'm moving it. :-)

Now for a few "resolutions". I don't usually make resolutions anymore. I never keep them, except for maybe one year. I'm setting goals for myself for this year. Things to just work on. I in now way intend to perfect these items, but to simply take a few steps in the right direction.

First and foremost - I want to be a better wife and mother. Yeah, we have baby #3 on the way, due in only a few short months, so my hands are going to be incredibly tied...but I need to do this. Before we had kids, and even when I was still pregnant with Julia, and shortly after she was born, I did a lot more around the house. Yeah...2 more kids later, I can see where slacking off might be allowed, but I know I'm capable. I know I can do better. So for now, I'm going to focus on doing one thing each day. Whether it's vacuuming, sweeping, throwing in a load of laundry, not waiting until the end of the day to put the dishes in the dishwasher...you get the idea.

Second - I NEED to be a better friend. I feel like I'm on the verge of losing friendships all over the place right now. So, this year, I'm going to do my best to be the one to email/message/call them at least once a week. Hey, if I can talk to my sister on the phone every other day, or text/message/whatever all the time, I can absolutely talk to someone that I need to make an effort to keep in touch with. My sister is family...she ain't going anywhere...lol My friendships, well, they take work. They're my chosen family, and I need to do my best to keep them close to my heart, too, and prove to them that they are worth the effort. I've failed miserably at this in the past.

Third - As much as this pains me...I need to read up on more political stuff. I do not like the direction this country is heading...AT ALL...and I need to know what I can do to keep my freedoms my freedoms. Watch for more of this in my next post. Maybe later today, maybe in the next couple of days.

Fourth - I need to be "neater". I actually called myself a slob the other day, just because I couldn't find the battery charger for my camera. It was *in* my laptop bag instead of my camera bag. That's not a slobby thing in my eyes, but it made me realize that deep down inside, I know I can do better than I have been. :-)

What do you have planned for 2013? What are your thoughts on my bloggy blog plans?

Well, if you've made it this far, thanks for reading!!! The kids are starting to stir, so I need to get them up and get the day started.

God bless!!!

Plans that Fall Through

One thing that I'm going to try to work on this year (and you will see this in my 2013 post), is being a better friend. I have friends that I haven't talked to in weeks, or worse, months. I have friends that I was supposed to do things with that I never did. Friends that I don't want to lose, and friends that I'm beginning to wonder if I deserve their friendship based simply on the fact that it is partly my fault that we aren't in touch as often as we should be.

But...what about the friends that you make plans with, and something "comes up" and the plans fall through? I'm not talking about sickness or anything along those lines. That's completely understandable. I hate going places when someone is there knowing full well that they or one of their family members are contagious. This is the number one reason that I don't go places if I, Michael, or the kids are sick. I don't want to be responsible for someone else catching a bug that will put them out for any period of time. That I can deal with. What about when you make plans with someone that will take place one of two days, only to find out that the person you waited around for all day decided to leave the state, won't be back in the time frame of your plans, and they didn't tell you? That's what I don't care for. A simple heads up would work...something along the lines of "Hey, I'm going to do this instead" would suffice much better than finding out after sitting around on your tush, putting off errands and other plans that you could have handled in that time frame. *sigh* One of the things I guess I need to get over. I guess not everyone is going to cancel ahead of time, but some will rather cancel after the fact...so-to-speak.

Anywho. Time to start dinner!
God bless!

Coming soon!!!

Over the next few days, I will be posting a "Best of 2012", a "Plans for 2013", and will be updating my P52 blog as well. I dropped the ball with posting photos over there, so there will be a rather large update, as well as a new promise to try and stay on top of it this year!

Catch-up Update

Whew...I've been away for a bit again! Sorry!

I've been crocheting like a mad woman still, getting caught up on all of the Christmas orders. The last one that needs to be mailed will be going out today! Yay! I just have one more to complete after that, and I only have a few minutes worth of work left on it, then I'll be completely caught up! Yay! I'm anxious to post all of the pictures on my Facebook Page to show off what's been made!

Christmas shopping (on my end at least) was pretty much completed on December 1st. Yay me! I think this is the first year I've been done shopping before December 24th! Ha! Now everything just needs to be wrapped. Shouldn't be too hard, though since I'm pretty much done with Christmas crochet orders.

Baby update: On December 12, I had my 24 week appointment. It started out as a normal appointment. Come in, get weighed, pee in a cup, wait in a room. The nurse came in and checked my blood pressure which came back normal. The doc was in the room pretty much before the nurse was out. He asked how I was feeling, if I was feeling movement, etc, etc. Everything was checking out just fine! Then, he got the doppler out to listen for the baby's heartbeat. This is when the appointment kind of took a turn for a few minutes. The doctor was moving the doppler around trying to find a heartbeat. He kept finding mine, but not baby's. A couple of times he thought he heard it, but it wasn't clear enough. I kept thinking to myself "there's no way...this baby just kicked me last night...there's no way...come on baby, come out of hiding...please!!!" Finally, after what felt like an ETERNITY of playing 'chase the baby', I was almost in tears when we heard that wonderful "whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh" sound. It was such a relief!!!

Once we were done with that, he asked if I had any questions. Well, back at my 20 week ultrasound, I wanted to find out the sex of the baby. Michael was kind of a pain, and we didn't wind up finding out. So, when the doctor asked if I had any questions I said "What are your thoughts on elective ultrasounds?" He said "For what?" So I said "To find out the sex of the baby..." We talked for a few minutes about the 20 week ultrasound, how we didn't get to find out, and that he would write me a prescription at my next appointment and send me back to the hospital for another ultrasound. Then - and this caught me completely off guard - he said "Know what? I've stressed you out enough already today, let's just go take a look". I was blown away!!! We headed to the ultrasound room, him saying that he couldn't guarantee that he'll be able to tell me, and me reassuring him that I know what I'm looking for (thanks to Dr. Google and BabyCenter...lol). We got in there, got everything set up, and after a few seconds, he turned the screen towards me. And I saw it. Three blazing white lines! I said "That's a girl!!!" He said "You think?" I was so excited (and relieved...Justin is enough of a handful...LOL!!!) to see those little lines!!! So, baby number three will be adding our second little princess!!! SQUEEE!!!

Anywho...love and hug your babies extra tight every time you get a chance. The tragedy in Connecticut is proof that they can be taken away from us all too soon...

God bless!

One Month of Thanks - 2012

I did this in 2010 and 2011, so I figure I will continue the tradition! I don't think I actually posted the thankful posts back in 2010, but I do want to keep doing that. SO! Without further adieu...My 2012 month of thanks!

November 1: I am thankful for my Faith.
November 2: I am thankful for my babies.
November 3: I am thankful for my husband.
November 4: I am thankful for the unconditional love from my little family.
November 5: I am thankful for my parents. For them raising me the way that they did, and for teaching me morals and respect. Love you mom and dad!
November 6: I am thankful that I can make my own choices, and that those choices can help determine the direction of this wonderful country that I live in.
November 7: Today I am thankful for my siblings. For their influence on me as a person, and for what they've shown and taught me. No matter what life brings, I will always love you guys no matter what.
November 8: I am thankful for my extended family, in all parts of the state, country, and world. Even if I don't see you all that often, know that I love and care about you!
November 9: I am thankful that I am healthy enough to enjoy the "little things".
November 10: I am thankful for all of my friends. Those that I keep in touch with every day, those that I don't, and those that I've lost touch with over the years. You all hold a special place in my heart.
November 11: Today and every day I am thankful for our Veteran's. Past, present and future!
And coffee. I'm thankful for coffee today, too.
November 12: I am thankful for healthy babies that eat anything and everything I put in front of them. Usually. Why else do you think Justin is nearly 30 lbs already at just 16 months...lol!
November 13: Today I am thankful that I am able to be a stay-at-home mom. To watch my kids grow knowing that I am *mostly* responsible for what they learn. I am more and more proud of my kids every day. I am especially thankful on days like today for the lack of "free time" (whatever that is...) and that I can still drive my kids where they need to go. Even in the snow. Just because I'm a stay-at-home mom doesn't mean I sit on my butt all day or stay holed up just because of the weather. :-)
November 14: I am thankful for the roof over my head! It protects me, my kiddies, and my wonderful hubby. :-)
November 15: I am thankful for cooperative kids that allow me enough time to get a shower before they start getting mad that I haven't gotten them out of bed yet. :-)
November 16: I am thankful for my former boss. He taught me so much in such a short period of time. I'm really sad that I've lost touch with him. He was someone that I really looked up to.
November 17: Today and always, I am thankful for God's timing.
November 18: Today I am thankful for Tylenol and Motrin... and that it allowed Justin to sleep slightly more comfortable than he would have otherwise. Even if he did still wake up 4 times.
November 19: I am thankful for my chosen family. We may not be blood, but I love you just the same!
November 20: I am thankful for my past struggles and what I have learned from them.
November 21: Today I am very thankful for the unsolicited hugs, kisses, and snuggles that I get from the kids.
November 22: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Today I am thankful for the internet...in general. Without it, I would not be able to participate in our annual family Thanksgiving party. Thanks to Yahoo messenger and video conferencing, I will be able to be there in spirit.
November 23: Today I am thankful for humidifiers and Vick's. Without them we may not have mostly-healthy-again kids! Thank goodness for less coughing overnight and this morning.
November 24: I know I've said it once this month already, but I am thankful for my husband. He has really been a trooper through all of my lazy days with this pregnancy...and believe me. There have been a LOT of lazy days. He provides for us, and works hard so that I can stay home with the kids. I don't know where I would be without him. Love you, honey!
November 25: Today I'm thankful that I'm smart enough to realize that turn signals are not optional on vehicles for a reason, that a yield sign is not the same as a stop sign, and that passing on the right is both illegal and not necessarily safe (even though I have done it a handful of times since I started driving). I often wonder where some people learned how to drive, and how they got their license...
November 26: Today I am thankful to be alive and well. Exhausted, run down, emotional as all get out, but alive and well. I'm also thankful for my "in real life" friends that I've kept over the years. Especially those that didn't "leave me" one of the many times that I was being a butt head. You know who you are...
November 27: Mornings like today make me so very thankful for nights when both kids sleep well...and coffee. Again.
November 28: Today I'm thankful that the kids checked out (mostly) healthy at their follow up, and that I felt almost normal after my nap today! And for Justin's snoring. Little man can saw logs with the best of them!!!
November 29: Today I am thankful for the innocence of children...and that Julia just told me she wanted to go buh-bye in her pajamas.
November 30: I am so glad that I have so many things to be thankful for, that I could continue this for another month! I am so blessed...and for that, I am so very thankful...

What are you thankful for?
God bless!

Thanksgiving

Every year for the last...I don't know how many years, my family on my dads side have gotten together on Thanksgiving to celebrate Christmas. There's lots of food, lots of laughing, and lots of fun to be had! We make Thanksgiving dinner potluck/buffet style. Everyone brings a dish to pass, and usually, the host handles the turkey. We do a grab bag gift exchange - usually with home made/hand made gifts - where people can "steal" from someone that has opened their gift. It has gotten pretty scrappy in the past when we've all made home made items. I love this get together, and look forward to it every year. The turkey...the mashed potatoes...the green bean casserole...mmmmmmm. Hanging out with the family members that I may not get to see very often. It's something that I really, really enjoy!!!

This year, however...we didn't get to go. Both kids were sick (still are somewhat), and we didn't want to take the chance of getting anyone else sick. I went ahead and sent my food items and grab gifts over so that we could still participate. When the time came for the gift exchange, my brother-in-law and I got on Skype so that we could "be there" for it all! It was really neat. I'm still bummed that we didn't get to have the usual turkey/mashed potatoes/green bean casserole for dinner, but I will be having a turkey dinner in the very near future! I'm determined :-) Instead, we had venison steak, mashed potatoes and corn. Not too shabby for a last minute dinner.

Anywho...I'll be posting my "One Month of Thanks" in just a few days, so be on the watch for that!

My little boy is sick :-(

I'm sitting here while the kids eat their dinner listening to Justin trying to eat through is super stuffy nose. Poor little guy. It started with just teething, then his sister pushed him down yesterday and he smacked his face on the floor resulting in a slight bloody nose and fat lip. Then...this morning he woke up with a low grade fever. Now the fever is up to 102.4 as the meds start wearing off, his nose is so stuffed up that he can't close his mouth to breathe, and he's just miserable.

Poor little dude...

God bless!

Coming Soon...

Ok, I'm going to try a few theme days again on this little blog-o-mine. Time Warp Tuesdays will be coming back (yay!), and I'm thinking about doing Wordless Wednesday. I've got so many ideas in my head, and I really think I'm going to have to just start using good old pen and paper again. Or maybe I'll just use the note pad on my phone. :-)

Anywho...I'm not 100% sure when they'll start, but watch for them!

God bless,

Busy, busy, busy!

That's me lately. And my goodness is it making time fly!!! I had my 20 week appointment on Wednesday. TWENTY WEEKS!!! Half way through pregnancy number three and I'm really thinking that time is running right along side me just chasing the kids around the house. *phew*

Anyways...all is well, and I was able to record the heartbeat this week! Two more appointments 4 weeks apart and then I start bi-monthly visits. OYE!

God bless!

My "good" Christmas List Idea

I'm actually quite proud of myself for coming up with this!

Late last year we bought a cork board to keep important things off the table but still accessible. It has come in VERY handy ever since we found it. Now, with Christmas coming up quickly, I had put my Christmas list up on the cork board, and periodically added things to it. As I was looking through store fliers, I kept seeing things I wanted to buy for them. I grabbed a pen and started circling things. But that meant I would have to hold on to the entire flier just for a couple of things. So I started tearing them out, and sticking them on the cork board. Yeah...you can see where this is going! Cluttered cork board, here we come! Then...I had this great idea!

I ran upstairs and found a few envelopes, one for me, one for Michael, and one for each of the kids. I wrote "Christmas Gift Ideas for - NAME - " on the front of the envelope. Threw the pre-existing lists and cut outs into them and tacked them up on the cork board. I explained to Michael that each time he gets an idea for a gift (for anyone) to just grab a sheet of paper off of our 3 X 3 paper cube, write the idea down, and throw it in the envelope. After a couple of days realizing that we would have to take them down every time we wanted to add something, I flipped the envelopes over, folded the flap to the front side and wrote "Christmas Gift Ideas for - NAME - " on the back and placed them back on the cork board. Now, all we have to do is slip things into them, and we have individual pouches with gift ideas for all of us! Sometimes I make me so proud...lol

Here's a pic!

It's November...

Wait, it's NOVEMBER???!?!?!? Time just keeps going faster and faster. I'm having a hard time keeping up!

The kids have had a very good Halloween. There were two chances to go trick-or-treating downtown this year, and we went both times! That, coupled with last nights festivities, along with our leftover candy from the lack of trick-or-treaters, and we have a heck of a candy stash. I just have to keep my little paws out of it. I've done pretty good so far, so we'll see what they days to come bring.

Here is a picture of the two cutie patooties in their costumes from trick-or-treating this past weekend. I may be partial, but I think they're the cutest kids ever!!!

God bless!

I'm on a MISSION!!!

For quite some time, I've wanted to donate my hair to Locks of Love, or some organization of that sort. Well, back when I was in eighth grade, I got my hair permed. I loved it. For the week that it lasted. I nearly immediately decided that I was going to grow my hair, chop it off, and start all over again! Fast forward to my freshman year in high school. My hair had grown to about half way between my shoulder blades and my waist, and I thought to myself "FINALLY! I can go donate my hair!". Little did I know they wouldn't take chemically treated hair. Hmph. So anyways, I walked in and said "I want to get rid of this perm and donate some hair." The lady chops off about 10" of my hair right away, and proceeds to tell me there isn't enough to donate. At this point, I was still unaware of the 'no chemically treated hair' thing, so I said "What about what you just cut???" THEN she tells me they can't take it. Oh, great. So here I'm sitting with my hair up to my chin, wanting to cry because I just hacked off 75% of my hair only to find out that I couldn't even donate it! I was sad to say the least.

Today, after my shower, I actually blow dried my hair, which I haven't done in at least a couple of months or more. I usually have it pulled back in a pony tail, so I don't see it too much. Well. Having my hair pulled back like that for so long, kind of hid it's true length. I was surprised to see that it's just below my shoulders already! I really (like, REALLY) need to make it a point to not have my hair in a pony tail so much. 1 - it's not healthy for it, and 2 - if I'm going to have it tied back all the time, I might as well just chop it all off, right???

Well, here's my mission. I want to donate hair. Really bad. No, I'm not going to run out and shave my head. I'm not THAT anxious to do it, yet. But I'm going to do it in the next few years. My plan is to let it grow...LONG. I'm talking down to my waist long. Then, I'm going to go in, donate about 12" and find a cut/style that I really like and actually maintain it. I want my hair to be long enough afterwards to be able to pull over my shoulder and braid, or to use my cool little hair thing that I bought in Ireland...as well as other clips and accessories. I have this really bad habit of hacking off my hair every couple of years, though. I'm hoping that by posting this here, it will help hold me accountable!

Go ahead...please ask me sometime how long my hair is. I'll post a current picture as proof that I haven't cut it all off!!! Also, I will post a "beginning" photo over the next few days just so you all can see where I'm starting. :-)

God bless!

Rare sight on my way to church this morning...

There's this one spot that I always look at on our way to church. There's never anything more than a bunch of trees and some grass, but today was different.

Just last week (or maybe the week before), I said to Michael "Isn't it strange that we never see any deer in that clearing?" His response was something along the lines of 'I'm glad we don't...I'd hate to hit one'. I can totally understand that! However, today, when I was on my way to church, I looked into that clearing like I always do, and wouldn't you know...there were SIX deer standing there! I thought it was pretty cool.

I was able to enjoy church by myself today, too. It was nice to actually feel like I was active in what was being said. When the kids are there, I always feel so distracted and disconnected. So today was a double bonus. I got to see some beautiful creatures in a clearing that I always look at, and I got to feel like a part of church! Woohoo!

Ok, that is all.

God bless!

WHEW!

Sorry I disappeared for a bit there. The last few weeks have been kind of crazy between toting two toddlers around, gymnastics classes for Julia, my doctor appointments, setting up daycare and crocheting like a mad woman! I'm also trying to pick up my camera a bit more and failing. Miserably. I've pretty much given up on my 2012 Reading Challenge (20 books) just based on how busy I've been as of late. It's OK though. I'll start that up again in January for 2013 - instead of MAY! - and maybe I'll have a better chance at completing it. I did manage to read five books since may... All three "50 Shades of Gray" books, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and One For the Money. I'm 78 pages into Two For the Dough (the second of the Stephanie Plum series), but I've been spending a lot more time crocheting than anything.

Speaking of crochet...I signed up for a swap on BabyCenter, and I can't WAIT to post what I made for my swap partner!!! I have to wait until she gets it so as to not spoil her surprise (if she were to even stumble upon my blog...), so Thursday can NOT come fast enough! I absolutely ADORE how these items came out...and the colors are simply gorgeous. I really hope she likes them.

OK, I have a babe making noise now, so gotta run!

Have a great day, and God bless!

Not that I NEEDED another book...

I went to Target today with my kids and my little list of stuff that I needed. When I say little list, I mean LITTLE list. I needed kiddie toothpaste, a couple more long sleeve shirts for Julia, pajamas for both of them (if they were on sale), lamps for the living room, and a box of Cheerio's. Really, I should buy stock in Cheerio's. Anyways...I decided to look around in the toy department for a play broom for Julia, scored one for $10! Then, I remembered we were almost out of lotion for the kids. Now, neither of these were on the list, but I've wanted a broom for Julia forever, and well, we needed lotion. I then decided to meander into the "media" department and see if they had any Janet Evanovich books...specifically the Stephanie Plum books. They only had two of them; Explosive Eighteen and Love in a Nutshell. Now, I'm nowhere NEAR book eighteen yet, so I decided to skip them. Then, I walked to the next aisle, and that's where I saw it. One of the books that everyone has been raving about. And it was cheap. Like $8.74 cheap. I'm talking about The Hunger Games. I snatched it up as quick as I could! Now, when I finish the book I'm reading, I'll have to decide between the next in the series, the next Harry Potter, or do I start The Hunger Games! AAH!

Anyways. Enough of my rambling...

God bless!

Baby #3 - First Trimester Update

Well, here I sit at almost 13 weeks with baby #3. Needless to say, this pregnancy is much more difficult than the other two were. The nausea has been relentless, and though it is starting to subside a little bit, I still get hit for a day here and there. Today is one of those days. I get hungry, I eat something, I get nauseous. However...if I don't eat, I get nauseous too. So, either I starve and feel sick, or I eat and feel sick. I think I'll eat...but I'm hoping the nausea will leave me alone soon!!!

On Thursday I had my 12 week ultrasound. This particular ultrasound checks for possible markers for Downs Syndrome and Trisomy 18. I had it with both of my other babies, so I figured I would go ahead with it for this one as well. Now...had anything come back abnormal, that would NOT change my desire to have this baby. I'm not a believer in abortion, especially if it's just because the baby *might* have a marker for a certain disorder. I'll take on whatever God gives me.

Anywho...Everything is checking out great on the baby. The tech said he saw absolutely nothing out of the ordinary, and baby is measuring right on track for the due date that they gave me. Happy mama! Now, enjoy a few pics of the nugget!

Early morning giggles

Justin really is something else. He cracks me up on a regular basis. He signs to get milk, "more", and when he's "all done". Although...his sign for "all done" is closer to just flailing his arms side to side in an over-enthusiastic manner.

Just this morning, he woke up early - again - and was a fussy mess when I brought him downstairs. I got his cup of milk for him, but that just wasn't going to cut it for him. Apparently he needed a snack bowl of Cheerios to accompany his milk. As soon as that container of cereal came out of the cabinet, is face just lit up, and he did his little surprised face. I MUST get this face in a photo to share. It's just too stinking cute.

Anyways...I gave him his little bowl of Cheerios and he went back into the living room to play. Out of nowhere, he comes back into the kitchen whining with this look of "OH THE HUMANITY!!!" on his face. I look down, and he only had about 15 Cheerios left in his bowl. Apparently he couldn't get them out through the opening. (It's one of those "spill proof" snack bowls with the cut open top.) Anyways, I took the top off, handed it back to him, and he grinned just about as wide and cheesy as he could. Showing all 8 of his front teeth. He then turned around, went back into the living room and continued playing.

He cracks me up.

God bless!

Dear "abigail"

Please don't spam my blog with gibberish obscure language comments again. It's rude.

Thanks.
