Umm...

Yeah, no more pumpkin spice whatchamajiggy's from Starbucks after 7:00 for me. This is the first time any sort of coffee type drink has really effected me. Now it's 11:30, and I'm gonna have to go lay in bed wide awake for a while hoping that I'll fall asleep! Tomorrow should be fun!

What I've been missing...

I've found it. In more ways than one!

I am marrying my soul mate in just over 7 months. He is the other half of my heart, and even though we don't see eye to eye on everything, we can talk through just about anything that we disagree on. And the things we don't/can't talk through, we agree to disagree. It's by far the best relationship I have ever been in, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him, and start our family.

A while back, I felt like there was something more than my significant other missing. Something major. Something more powerful. Something spiritual. Well, when I started going to church with Cletus, I found that part that was missing. It was very uncomfortable at first, but once I got into it, I didn't want to give it up. I started craving the Eucharist. That night, at the Easter Vigil, as I was baptised and received into the Catholic faith, receiving the Eucharist was so amazing. I had found the one thing I've been missing for so long...I was finally complete. Tonight, my priest, the one that will be marrying Cletus and I, said "Get lost in this Amazing Gift." Partaking in the Eucharist calls you to have 'full conscious active participation'. It truly is an amazing gift, and I am so glad that I have received this gift... I will be fully, consciously, actively participating in mass, and in our wedding celebration next May. I cannot wait to devote myself completely, through Christ, to my future husband.

That is all for tonight.

Stupid...addicting...games!!!

Ok, first the good stuff...here's the story about me "acquiring" a Godson.

If you read posts from around Easter time, you will see that I was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. It was an amazing night. Full immersion baptism, the chrism smelled amazing, and I will never forget that night. Now...I've been working with a girl for about 2 years I think. A little over a year ago, we discovered that we were related! She's my 2nd cousin on my dad's side. Well, she just had a baby a while back, and asked me to be his Godmother! Yay!!! :-) Anyhoo, he got baptized yesterday. It was both exciting and kind of strange at the same time, but I'm very honored that she asked me. There were 10 babies ranging from probably one month to about 2 years at the church. It was a nice ceremony though!

Cletus and I went to my other cousin's house for my aunt & uncles 25th wedding anniversary where they found out that everyone was pitching in to send them on a cruise to the Bahamas. Good times had by all there, especially when I got to check out an orange 1975 Camaro :-D rock on!!!

Oh yeah...Saturday night I dug into the puzzle that Jaibee got for me when she went to Australia for World Youth Day. It's all dots...I got about 2 hours and 50 minutes into it, but I think I'm just under half done.

Now onto the addicting game...If you have myspace, and you're playing mobsters...then you know what I'm talking about. I get up in the morning, I check it out, deposit my money, get in a few fights, bank more money, see if I can buy anything while I'm in the hospital, then sign out. The problem is...I want to check it CONSTANTLY!!! It's all good though...I like the game :-)

Anyhoo...

Very productive day today!

Well, I did more today then I thought I would. Cletus and I went to his cousins house to pick up a freezer. I hope to put at least one deer in there this year. It would be my first, and would be very exciting for me!!! I'm sorry to all you animal lovers, but I love hunting. Only been once so far, and I can't wait to do it again!!! Also, a while back, we got some raspberry bush seedlings. They sat in the little plastic pot for...oh...about a month I think. Today, I finally got them planted! Yay!

And one of them actually has berries on it!!! I hope they live through the winter though. I know it's awfully late in the season. I'm going to have to keep them covered after the first frost...we'll see if I have more of a green thumb with outdoor plants then I do with indoor plants! lol

I went to a florist in town today to check it out. I found a really cool boutonniere for the guys...I hope it's ok!!! Plus, they're only $10 each...heck yeah! I found some really nice bouquets for me and the girls too, but that will take a little more thought I think. The boutonnieres look pretty "masculine" but they're still flowers, so that's why I like them so much. I think the guys would be better wearing these than...oh...say...lillies! hahahaaa

I also washed my car today! It's the first time in at least two years that I've washed the outside of my car. Mainly because I lived in an apartment complex for two years and didn't really feel comfortable walking across the parking lot, let alone washing my car in it. I couldn't justify taking it through a car wash either. Done it before and it got all kinds of scratches on it. I'd just rather do it myself.

Tomorrow is going to be crazy busy. Church at 10:15, baptism in Waterford at 2:00, Flint for my aunt & uncles wedding anniversary party from 4-7...yay! Then, we come home...and I go to BED!!!!!!

I will do my best to post about my Godson tomorrow...y'all might have to wait though! Have a good night.

Ok, ok...

So I really suck at the daily updates lately...I'll have some stories this weekend though, that's for sure!!!

Up for telling:

1) Getting a freezer from Cletus' cousin
2) Me having a Godson
3) Me seeing my Godson get baptized...I'm very excited about this one!

Stay tuned!!!

Yay!!!

We got the favors today! Woohoo!!! They're very pretty too. I'm excited about them!

Now, if only I could type today...what a crazy day it was. Couldn't talk straight, still can't type...I just want to crawl into bed with a good book and do nothing...it's been very entertaining.

I just don't get it

Ok...I understand that there is more traffic on the roads at certain times during the day...but WHY do people insist on driving 10-15 mph UNDER THE SPEED limit??!!!? It's so annoying. I don't think I will ever understand it. Oh well.

Now...here's a solution for all the cities that are having budget issues. Instead of cutting the people that keep the citizens safe (ie: police, fire, etc.) why don't all the higher up yuppies take even a $.50 per hour pay cut. That's only on average $20 per week, or $80 per month. With as much as they make, I think that should be doable. If not, they're living way outside of their means...cutting police and firefighters is just plain stupid. Who am I though? Just some young 27 year old girl that watches all this crap happen on tv wishing people would open their eyes.

Thanks for listening.

So, they called back

Yeah, David's actually called me back at about 3:20. The dress I'm looking for *of course* is not one of the ones on sale! GRRRR!!! Oh well.

~Peanut

"Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping."
-Bo Derek

Two gripes in one...

What's with all the secrecy??? I was on myspace the other day checking out some profiles of people I went to school with. I would say 7 out of 10 of them were private. I don't get it...what's to hide? Are people too 'party animal-ish' to have their profiles viewed by the general public? Now, I'm obviously not talking about 16-17 year olds. By all means...those SHOULD be private and monitored by parents. No, I'm talking people my age...mid to late 20's...and older. Are they afraid their boss might see what's going on and they might lose their job? Oh, and blogs being private? Come on...if you don't want people to read your blog, buy a diary. Ok, that's all on that subject.

Now...a co-worker's daughter is getting married next year. They went to David's Bridal this weekend and saw that a lot of the bridesmaid dresses were only $99. BONUS!!! So, since I'm at work right now, and can't leave the office for an hour long lunch, I called the store to ask if the particular dress I'm looking for is one of the ones on sale. Here's how the conversation went:

David's Girl: Thank you for calling David's Bridal would you like to make an appointment?
Peanut: *the girl said the greeting VERY fast* I'm sorry, I didn't hear you...
David's Girl: Would you like to make an appointment?
Peanut: Oh! No, I was just wondering if a particular dress is on sale right now.
David's Girl: Well, our sale ends today, would you like to make n appointment to come in?
Peanut: No, I just want to know if this dress is on sale.
David's Girl: I can put you down for an appointment if you'd like to come in and take a look around.
Peanut: No, I already have my gown, I'm looking at bridesmaid dresses right now, and I just want to know if this particular dress is on sale right now.
David's Girl: Well, the only discount your girls can get is the $20 off.
Peanut: Ok, so is there any way to find out if this particular dress is on sale...in the store?
David's Girl: Well, I can take your name and number and have someone call you back.
Peanut: That would be great!

So, I gave her my name, phone number and the dress number, then she practically hung up on me. How many times do you really have to ask a question before you get a straight answer??? Apparently more than I did...because they still haven't called and that was almost 2 hours ago...I could have been there, found the dress and been back to work 3 times by now. Oh well...they probably won't call me back. My co-worker will be up there getting her daughter fitted for a bridesmaid dress tonight so she's going to look for me. OYE!!!

Biggest DUH! of the weekend...

Ok...a little back story first. I bought my car back in 2001. It's getting a little old, but unfortunately, that has nothing to do with this weekends fiasco. Well, about 4 or 5 years ago, I spilled some pop on the console and it got down into the gears of the gear shifter. If it was cold out, I would sit for anywhere between 5 & 10 minutes trying to get my car out of park. It was extremely annoying, and severely pissed me off. Well, about a year after the spill happened, and after I had pretty much lost my patience with it, my brother helped me pull out the console, cleaned the living daylights out of the thing, put it back together, and lo-and-behold, I could get my car out of gear again!!!

Well, just recently (by recently I mean about a year ago), I went to get my oil changed and the shifter was sticking again. The guy at the oil change place "fixed" it for me, and I was good for oh, 8 months or so. Now, for those of you that don't know, there's an override right next to the shifter. Well, back in the day, my car got repossessed and the override "magically" appeared (I had no idea it was there)...that's how the repo man got my car. Well, every time the shifter would stick, I'd use an ink pen on the override to get my car out of gear.

Enter this weekend. Cletus and I took the console out of my car again and started cleaning things, and greasing the heck out of stuff too. All the while trying to figure out why the heck the car still wouldn't come out of park! We started thinking that maybe a fuse had blown or something, but we couldn't quite figure our where or what it would have been. Then, Cletus said "well honey, I think you're s.o.l. with this one". He went to put some stuff away, and I was ready to deal with using the ink pen every time I wanted to get my car out of park. Then...a light bulb went off. A fuse. An electrical item inside the shifter probably. The fuse that we thought had blown, just needed some electricity getting to it. Hm...I have my keys in my pocket...let's see what happens when I turn the key and try to take the car out of park. POOF!!! It worked. Yeah...usually the key actually has to be in the ignition to shift without using the override. Hence the reason the repo man couldn't get my car without it...DUH!!! I felt like an idiot!!! But now, my shifter works, and I don't have to use a pen anymore :-)

Anyhoo...Cletus and I get to see my mom, my sis, my absolutely adorable niece and some really cute kitties tomorrow!!!

Have a great weekend!

There's no way...

There is absolutely no way I'm going to make it through the wedding without losing my composure...I've chosen the song that I'm going to dance with my dad, and Cletus and I have figured out our first dance. Now, whenever I hear either of those songs, I get really teary!!! The one for me and my dad more so, well...because I have a couple of things "up my sleeve" so to speak. I know he will really enjoy it, and that makes me very happy.

In addition to the music...any time I get online and look at my dress (which is actually in my mom's possession right now), the bridesmaid dresses, hair styles or ANYTHING that might be even remotely related, I get all excited. I get excited, and start thinking about how everything will look that day. Me, Cletus, the entire wedding party, the reception hall...I can't wait! We've got the major things done, now it's just details...

I just can't wait til the day that I can call myself his wife. The first lines on our wedding invitations say "Believing that Holy Matrimony is ordained by God, and in the spirit of Christian Joy..." I am so glad that he took me to church with him that day...I will never look back on it and regret it. The 'thing' that was missing in my life, is missing no more. The only way my life could possibly be any better, would be spending my life with him, and having his children...and that's all about to happen!!!

Yay!

Soooo...

Well, last night wasn't so bad. I didn't end up getting up in front of everyone like I thought I was going to. I don't know if I really will be speaking or not, but either way I'm ok with it. It was so good to see everyone last night though!!! A lot of people that sponsored last year were there, and there were about 15 candidates/Catechumens...I think...

We watched a video that had some interviews on it, and a little bit of the Easter Vigil from this year. I actually got teary watching it. The Easter Vigil was just amazing!!! That is one day that I don't think I will ever forget. There was just so much inside the church that night. It was very powerful. I can't wait to see it again in 09!

Anyhoo...I don't know if I'm making any sense right now, so I think I'm gonna go to bed...I'm pretty sleepy...

RCIA!

RCIA starts again tonight!!! I'm sponsoring someone this year. It'll be like the 'blind leading the blind' (thanks Jenn!!!), but I'm going to do my best. I know there are a lot of people I can ask questions if I can't answer "my" students questions. I'm also a little bit nervous though! The DRE has asked me to give my story to the participants! AHH!!! Me in front of a group of people???? I'll see how it goes.

Anyhoo...gotta get going soon!

Never Forget...

This will be my last post of the day today...

Today marks the 7 year anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center. God Bless all of the families that lost loved ones, and still fight back the tears. God Bless all of the people that lost lives that day in New York, at the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania. God Bless our troops as they fight to keep this wonderful country free. God Bless all of us...

Yay me!!!

Ok, so it's no big task for some people, but...

1) I managed to find a layout that I like
2) I managed to actually get the layout to work
3) After a few frustrating minutes of losing all my links, my counter, and my cool clock...I got them back
4) I didn't lose any hits on my counter :-)
5) I didn't blow up the world in the process.

What do you think of my new layout????

I'm going to find a new layout. The blogger layouts are all boring, and I want something exciting on my page!!! Hopefully it doesn't throw everything out of whack.

edit: Unfortunately...it won't happen today...not enough time!

Another novel idea...

This came from a fellow co-worker...

You know the pneumatic tube systems when you go through the drive through at the bank? How cool would it be to have those installed in office buildings to save employees from running all over the building?! Between that and the ability to teleport, a lot more work would get done!

Anyhoo...gotta run.

So, I got to thinking....

A dangerous thing, I know!!! lol

Anyways...during work today, I got the strange desire to be able to teleport. It would be fantastic!!! I could be sitting at my desk and just say "V.P. Sales office", snap my fingers, and I'd be there! Or "Production Managers Office - *snap*" and done! It would be great. Although, if other people in the office were capable of this, I'm afraid that people would just pop into my cubicle and scare the living daylights out of me! Oh wait...they already do that...minus the scaring the daylights out of me. Would save tons of walking though...oh well!

Anyhoo...Cletus and I were out and about last night doing some shopping. We have a wedding to go to next week and I needed some new shoes. So, I got some sexy red heels! I'm very excited to wear them. I've never had red high heels like these!!! I also got a micro SD card for my phone. Let me just say, these things are friggin tiny...they aren't joking when they say MICRO!!! I got the adapter thingee too, so I don't have to upload all the photos, I can just put them right on my computer. And it only cost $7! BONUS! However...that thing comes out of the card slot on the phone like a friggin banshee...I almost lost it once already!

On wedding planning news...we ordered the favors, they should be in shortly. We're going to go to some florists and bakeries in the near future to get pricing and flavors taken care of. But...I ordered my shoes thinking I would love them...oh no...hated them. They were perfect when I saw them online, but when I got them...yuck!!! Oh well, we have a little over 8 months now. I can find the perfect pair still.

Gotta get back to work...late lunch break today...

It's been a week...

Since I moved into the house with Cletus, and I love it here! :-) My room is still a disaster, and so is the spare bedroom, but Cletus' room is just as clean as it ever was! Once I get everything somewhat organized, daily updates are much more likely. I don't really have time to post at work anymore, and now that there is 'evening internet access', I should be able to update on a more regular basis.

Work has been crazy...we have a new promotion running, and since I handle 3 of our 4 cities, I get the 'brunt of the blow' so to speak. That's ok though, it keeps me busy!!! And I like being busy. It makes the days go much faster. On the other hand...I don't like it cause it makes the days go much faster!!! lol I'm trying to plan a wedding here!!!

Anyhoo...I don't really have much to talk about other than the fact I'm happy Kwame is FINALLY *technically* out of office. Not officially until mid-month, but still...now Michigan can work on rebuilding the image we had before the former mayor of Detroit ruined it.

Have a good night all...

What a weekend!!!

Ok...long weekend! It's a good thing too!

We got to leave work at 4:00 on Friday instead of 5, which was fantastic cause I had lots of packing and moving to do! When I got to the apt I started getting stuff together. Cletus headed over with his buddy, we loaded up mostly the big stuff and headed to the house. After that we went to dinner at Muldoon's...they have pretty good pizza! Saturday morning, we went back with 2 trucks thinking we should be able to get everything in one load...we were wrong...we were one box, and my cars trunk short! We had to go back for a second trip...oh well. Around 12:00, I handed my keys over to the property manager, gave my new address, and was officially moved out of the apartment!!! Yay!!! Once we got back to the house, Cletus and I focused on getting the living room and kitchen/dining room organized first since that's what you see first. I haven't really tried tackling my room other than getting my bed set up so I have some where to sleep! The spare room and my room are a mess pretty much (that shouldn't surprise some people), but Cletus' room is as clean as usual! lol

Monday, we went to the Renaissance Festival. We were there for about 5 hours, and we had a good time!!! There were some new shows this year (at least new to me) that were pretty good! One was Tartanic (www.tartanic.net), a bagpipe and drums show...they were fantastic, and Cletus got to get on stage! That's always entertaining....

Anyhoo...it was a long weekend, and I'm officially out of the apartment and into mine and Cletus' home :-) I love it there!! I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
